"Sometimes I play more, and other games I get lost in the rotation!" Chuck said after helping his
team gain win number 2 on the season. "I just got it going on Monday. I was in a good rhythm, I
let the game come to me, and I was able to help my team get another win!"
The Destroyers started the season 0-3, but have won 2 of their last 3, making them 2-4 on the
season. Both of their wins have come from the Chicago Throwbacks.
Reed shot a scorching 80% from the field, including 3-5 from behind the arc. He also added 4
rebounds and 3 steals.
"I'm young, but one thing I've learned from Mark King is that I have to be a professional 100%
of the time, even when I am frustrated internally with a more limited role," Reed said. "I've
learned not to question the coaching staff. All I can do is be coachable, prepare myself for every
game physically and mentally, and be ready when I'm called on. Hopefully I proved to the staff
and my teammates that I can contribute more than what I've been asked to this season.
Reed saw his point totals skyrocket from 4.4 to 9.3 points per game. He's shooting an astonishing
58.3% from both the field and the 3 point line.
Chuck elaborated, "It felt good to have my first solid game in the Premier Basketball League. My
decision to try and play for a PBL team this year is really going to help my career!"
Troy Coleman followed Reed with 19 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists. Odgra Bobo, the Destroyers
leading scorer, added 14 points, and Oscar Sanders and Marcus Skinner added 13 and 12
Luke Lloyd, a 6'9" Power Forward, commanded the paint with 20 rebounds and 3 blocked shots.
Uniquely, he also led the team in assists with 7.
Thanks in large part to Reed, the Destroyers bench outscored the Throwbacks 51-16.
The Destroyers are back in action at home against the defending PBL Champions, the Rochester
Razorsharks, Thursday, January 29th.
Game time is 7:05pm.
